Artisan Mate Gourd and Bombilla
This kit includes an Artisan mate gourd, an Artisan Alpaca bombilla and a 5 ounce sampler of My Yerba Mate Store's balanced blend of yerba mate.
This wonderful mate gourd and bombilla were handmade without the utilization of complex tools by a skillful Argentine craftsman.
This unique mate gourd was made from the gourd of the Lagenaria vulgaris plant.

It is hand made. The Alpaca Silver ornamentation consists of an embossed ring around the opening with stemmed leaves connecting the ring and footing together. Designs and color varies slightly from mate to mate.
This mate is approximately 2.50-3.00" tall and it is brown color and has been buffed and polished to a smooth shine. It holds 4-5 fluid ounces of liquid.
This artistic rendition of the Bombilla is made from Alpaca Silver. It measures 6.50 inches long. It is very easy to clean, just rinse with warm and mild detergent. The strainer is designed so it will not get plugged with yerba mate.
Alpaca Silver is not a true silver. It is an alloy of cooper, nickel, zinc and iron. This alloy has properties much like stainless steel.
This mate gourd and bombilla are examples of the unique artistry of South American craftsmanship.
This kit is awesome. The gourd is nice and solid, and well made. The bombilla works perfectly and keeps the yerba where it belongs -in the gourd, and not your mouth. I have yet to try the yerba sample that came with it, but I look forward to trying it after I finish the yerba I have open already. This set would be a perfect starter kit if you don't already own a gourd and bombilla! Shipping was fast as well.
